10 Things I Wish I’d Known in High School
Sometimes high school seems like a necessary evil, that step between childhood and the structure of elementary school and adulthood and the freedom of college. I remember feeling like I was just ready to be done – and that was only the beginning of sophomore year. Now at the end of my college journey, I know that while I did well in high school, there are some things in particular that made high school and college easier for me. And there are still more things I could have done to make my high school experience more fun, more manageable, and more beneficial.
5 Things You Don't Learn About High School Until Too Late
I'm not one of those guys who's going to tell you that high school is the best years of your life, because quite frankly, I don't believe that they are. I don't look back on the experience with glassy eyes and a sigh of nostalgia, little cartoon hearts floating around my giant, fluttering eyelashes. And I most definitely don't agree with adults who say, "You've got it easy -- all you have to worry about is going to school." That type of vapid, shallow statement is made by people who have forgotten what it was actually like, the type who plan their 10-year reunion while attending their five-year one.
But there are a few things I did learn long after I graduated that would have made the whole thing a lot easier. Maybe kids today are already wise enough to see these things, but back when I was in school, it would have been nice to know that ...

15 Serious Facts about High School Stress
One of the greatest lies ever perpetuated about the teen years is that they’re supposedly “the best years of your life.” Ask any high schooler these days how he or she genuinely feels about this statement and the opposite sentiment might very well end up relayed instead.
Every year, more and more pressures regarding classes, getting into the right college (or deciding if college is even the right choice), families, jobs, extracurricular activities, friends, relationships, and other stimuli just keep burbling away beneath their still-developing forms.

Extreme Facts About School
The First School
The first schools were set up by the ancient Greeks and the Chinese, a very, very long time ago. There have been various sorts of schools in England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales for many centuries.
But - unbelievably - it wasn't until the Education Act of 1944 that secondary education was free for all pupils in England and Wales. Ask your grandad. Or your granny. Or your teacher. They might remember it.
Schools around the world come in all sorts and shapes and sizes but most of them will have classrooms, a playground, a hall, a library, and a canteen where you can have delicious, or disgusting, school dinners.

A Day In The Life Of A School Bag (Short Story)
It was a typical school day and I was being packed with my heavy load. I was used to this procedure, after all I have had it done to me for all my life now and don’t mind too much. My zips were closed and I was lifted off the ground. It was time to go to school.
I was being tossed around. I kept bumping into something hard. Soon I felt myself being lifted up again. ‘We’re at school.’ I thought to myself. I was being carried up a hill towards the classroom. Even though I have never seen it I was so used to the route. I have been travelling on it for seven years. I felt myself being pushed into a cupboard or something like that. I knew I had to wait in this squashy hole till three o’clock. Hours came and went. I felt books being put into me and taken out throughout the long, dragging day.
Not again!
